Cyclone survivors say: ‘We thank God for you’

In March of this year, Cyclone Idai devastated the southeast African nations of Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Hundreds of people were killed – including many pastors and church members – and thousands were left homeless and distraught.

When your whole world changes, it’s hard to know what to do next…

However, immediately after the the storm, friends like you gave $15,000 to print and distribute thousands of copies of Biblica’s When Your Whole World Changes booklet. These booklets are specially designed  assist disaster survivors to find help and hope – one day at a time.

“This booklet touches on questions that disaster survivors wrestle with,” says a co-worker in Zimbabwe. “Sometimes we don’t know what to say to these people, but this booklet makes it easy to counsel survivors.”

You’ve helped distribute these booklets to thousands in Malawi as well. “It is the only Bible-based resource for disaster relief in the Chewa language spoken by the majority of Malawians,” says Rev. Francis, a local church leader. He adds:

“We are immensely grateful to you for bringing relief to the survivors of the floods, with biblical resources offering emotional support and spiritual nourishment. We thank God for you.”

Survivors in the affected areas are still struggling to recover and desperately need hope.

But these daily readings provide counsel and encouragement from the Bible to help survivors start over and buildr for the furture.

Thinus, another local partner, says, “Thank you for giving us a tool to bring comfort and meaning in the face of death and destruction.”
